If You Love Me Sane

If you love me sane – how will you ever find me
when the stubborn hairline recedes & my head opens
to a broken axle…
When my simple thoughts turn buoyant & fly beyond
the gateway you have adjusted so carefully
And a madness that is alien to your love comes out
in a small hum rising
Flinging words like shudders, like joy, enormous
with emotion
How will you grasp me when the clasp breaks
and I drape myself in vulnerable despair
across the neat world you continually handle
Will you rearrange me? Straighten my folded covers?
Will you fear the cloudburst inside my rooms
or find a boat & ferry us beneath the broken moon?
